Dr. Peter Chikes is board certified in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery (Ear, Nose and Throat). He received his undergraduate degree from Duke University and his medical degree from the University of North Carolina. He completed a residency in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at Duke University Medical Center (DUMC). Subsequently Dr. Chikes served as a Major in the U.S. Army and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal.
Dr. Chikes is a clinical consulting professor at Duke and is active in teaching at DUMC, UNC, and NorthEast Medical Center. Dr. Chikes has served as Chief of Surgery at NorthEast Medical Center and is past president of the North Carolina Society of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery. Dr Chikes has served as Chief of Surgery at Northeast Medical Center and is past president of the North Carolina Society of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery. He is active on the staff of Northeast Medical Center and is participating in the Continuing Education Program.
Dr. Chikes is active in many community activities. He was a founder of Cabarrus County's Habitat for Humanity, a director of the 4-H Foundation, and President of the Cabarrus County Medical Society. He presently is active in the Rotary Club, the Cabarrus Chamber of Commerce, and is an Elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Concord.
Dr. Chikes lives in Concord with his wife and has four children. He enjoys golf, tennis, skiing, theater and reading.
